Harrods Chinese New Year

Who doesn’t love a good window display?
And in London I am spoilt for choice of places to go and gaze outside for hours on end. Transfixed on the display, colours, props, and the clothes, shoes or food! Even the mannequins are pretty amazing sometimes, they can move in ways I couldn’t dream of!

The window scheme I love at the minute has to be Harrods.

I went and had a good gaze last week at their current scheme. Full of reds, golds, scales and fire it is all aimed at Chinese New Year. These are some images of the windows that I managed to take pictures of without the usual West London shopper or the Harrods tourist visitor getting in my way.

Stunning lamps, the variation in shape is so interesting.
Loving the head gear as well to the bottom left, can see me walking through Camberwell in that.

How amazing is this guy!
There is the traditional looking dragon in the scheme but we all know what they look like. With it been the year of the snake they have really gone all out with the design. The metal sculpture snake is my favourite. With the gold finish against the hot pinks and the dressing of the mannequin been so subtle it really mimics Eastern design I think. The simplicity of the window is what stands out for me as when you come closer the detail is fascinating.

Following the snake creations, Harrods has used these very bold shapes creating the tiger you see in the first image and the pentagonal shape used to display a mannequin. This section still keeps the style of simplicity with intricate detail, the detail here been within the outfits the mannequins are wearing
A print of oriental flowers cascades down the mannequin high on the podium whilst the two either side are styled in black with detail only you will see if you visit.

Not one to spoil a surprise because the windows are still in display so thats the only photos I am uploading.

Im unsure how long the windows will be up for, but there are definitely worth a visit. They are a far cry from the Disney Princess theme they ran over Christmas, which was amazing also, but as always Harrods has delivered with window displays that will draw in the crowds and 'wow' you.

Thanks having a peek :)
